Pix Pixel 2 based off HTC Ultra?

Gosh I hope not. The ultra is one of the most disappointing devices I've ever seen. And Google chooses what it'll look like, not HTC.

I think the pixel 2 will have more Google influence now that they got time ... I don't mind if it's based off HTC U Ultra. Looks great and would have been impulse purchase if it was shipping as of now. Shipping in March with SD 821 killed it for me. Not paying close to $800 after tax for last year processor when SD 835 devices will start releasing at around the same time ultra starts shipping.

Sorta odd how the SD 821 came light towards the end of the year, I think only like 3 devices used it. And now we have the 835 already.

I think the industrial design of the Pixel is heavily weighted towards HTCs current phones, probably because they didn't have time to do a completely new design.

google will have time and full control over design this time. So i think it might be different than ultra design

Note that the current Pixel has a large amount of Google's design influence.

It is very likely that the next Pixel will be the same, as in it'll be a Google-design, with HTC acting as the ODM.

The Pixel isn't a Nexus. An OEM isn't going to base it's design on one of their own models. HTC won't even have a hand in the design.

youll be surprised.. I but the note 8 will have the 821 chip the chip was released late in the year. I bet Samsung will use the 821. I mean the Note 7 had the 820 soc when the 821was available

I think they will use the 835 in the Note 8 same as what will be in the Galaxy S8

Well I hope they do I know I was disappointed when I went with the 820 instead of the 821 processor in the Note 7
