Heard Google is trying to move us toward progressive web based apps. I'm sure we will be the betas for this way forward. Will this mean we can have apps on the same level as Apple because Google/Apple will utilize the same progressive web based apps?

I'm tired of the NFL Sunday Ticket app being utter crap for Android. Seems like the Apple version is flawless.

My Sunday Ticket app works great, and for me just about all apps I have work as well on Android as iOS. Maybe the odd one here or there might be a bit less, but I can;'t think of any I use that don't work as well as the iOS version (I have an iPod Touch for comparison).

Have you used the app away from home with anything less than a 20 Mbps connection? It works flawlessly on my home internet connection. Try traveling and using it at the Hilton or Marriott on WiFi. I'm talking about hotel WiFi where they grant me access to the best internet speed possible.

The intent of the app is to use it away from home. DirecTV/AT&T said all the issues will be remedied by early 2018. The app has a 3.6 rating in the app store with tons of complaints listed. If the NFL hadn't sold out to DirecTV for billions, they could have sold the rights to Google/Comcast/etc so the games could be streamed over YouTube and broadcast over cable. Maybe that's why there is a ratings decline for the games. Nobody can afford DirecTV prices. Pay YouTube $1-$3 to watch a single game if you want.

Whatever deal DirecTV has with the NFL, you can't even watch full replays of the games with an app. You have to pay $99 for a Game Pass subscription. Unbelievable...

Well it isn't just DirecTV -- I get free streaming on my Verizon phone of the NFL games.

I have no problems using the app on LTE. I haven't tried it much in hotels, but my experience has been quite good with the Android Sunday ticket app overall.
