Pixel 2 (5") to Nokia 7 Plus?

Love my Pixel 2, and my regular Pixel and XL before, but fancy trying out a large phone again to see if I could handle it before the next round of Pixels.

I can sell my Pixel 2 in the UK for about £350, and buy a new 7 Plus for the same money but with a free Home Mini which I could re-sell.

I'd lose the camera, instant updates, waterproofing, and original quality photo storage, but gain a bigger battery. Perhaps my Nokia nostalgia is clouding my judgment...

Anyone else fancy trying out a decent Android One phone?

I'm not familiar with the Nokia but why don't you just get a used Pixel 2 XL if all you really want is a larger phone? Then you don't have to give up the items you mentioned...

Good point. I thought of that but I won't buy second hand anymore. Too many bad eBay experiences! Shame we don't have Swappa in the UK as I understand that's better.

You wouldn't lose instant updates necessarily. Nokia has been on top of their game when it comes to security updates. If you're talking about OS updates then yes you would lose that but it wouldn't be a long wait. If it were any other brand I'd be hesitant but since it's Nokia I say go for it. I wish Nokia would bring more of their phones to the US. I also would want them to be compatible with carrier (Verizon). Try it and let us know how it is.

If you want a larger phone look at the OnePlus 6T releasing in May 6.2 inch screen, Oreo with Oxygen on top and up to 256G built in storage with 8Gb ram and the newest processer

Never had a OnePlus and like the idea of them, however, security updates concern me (and I don't really want to go down the road of beta software unless it's easy to do?) Perhaps I put too much emphasis on security updates and should just rely on the built in security of Android and how Google monitors the Play Store. Who knows.

No Beta here and April security update , maby you want to wait for the pixel 3

I just bought a Pixel 2 last month. If the Nokia 7 would have came to the US I would have bought that instead. But since you already have a pixel 2, I'm not sure I'd switch.

I too wanted to try a Nokia phone - and it was also partly my Nokia nostalgia that influenced me. I would say go for it - you'll never know unless you give it a shot!
