Pixel 2 camera getting better with time?

I don't know if it is just in my head, or Google photos processing photos better, but the camera seems to be taking even better pictures than when I got it last October. All my pictures are crisper, clearer and seem to have more color. I read that it is due to the pixel core chip and AI learning that it is teaching itself how to take better photos. Anyone else noticing this or am I crazy?

Did you perhaps make any changes in settings like turning on HDR+ as that will certainly make the kinds of image changes you're talking about.
