You learn something new every day. For the past 10 months my Pixel 2 in "HDR+" mode has taken outstanding photos in all conditions. Friends with various phones (iPhones and others) have all been really impressed.

Now from another thread I learn there is an "HDR+ Enhanced" mode. What is it, does that Mode take "better" photos. I know I can test for myself and I will but curious if others use it and what they think.

Besides the quality of HDR+ I love the speed it takes the photo. Does the enhanced mode have a similar response.

The enhanced mode makes HDR photos in low light settings come out better. Give it a try, I think you will be impressed. I really like it for taking pictures in late evening/ bars. I have noticed low light photos are much better now at those times.

I don't know if I've used HDR+ Enhanced yet... Will report back when I can take some photos at home (probably of my cat)!

You're right - you learn something new every day! Awesome!

When you are actually in the camera app, up top where HDR is if you choose it, then it will list out the options. Similar to the flash options.

Ah ok. Had to turn on HDR manual mode first. Yep. Look at this photo I just took.

I often take low level photos so this should be great.

In my experience, no. Enhanced takes a very long time to take the shot. I learned that the hard way when trying to shoot an animal. It was long gone by the time the camera was done taking the picture.

Very good shots, but as the user above me stated, it does take a while for the shot to get taken.

We are in NJ -NYC (from California) visiting our daughter before heading to Europe tonight. Last night I took a bunch of photos in low to no light using HDR+ and then the exact same photo using HDR+ Enhanced.
Have to be honest, I could not tell a difference and believe me I am looking for any slight difference. The good news is both photos look great but I don't think Enhanced give any added benefit even in low to no light.
Have never posted any pictures here, I will try to post the photos.

Top photo is NYC skyline from NJ Pixel 2 on HDR+. Bottom photo was taken seconds later using HDR+ Enhanced. Two of many different photos taken to compare both camera modes.
