I am getting annoyed with pixel 2. Recent update (at least problem has got worse) has meant WiFi connection is being dropped on a regular basis.
Pathetic, and seriously considering giving up on Google phones. Not paying a premium price for an inferior phone

Sometimes being first is being first for bugs. What matters is how fast or slow those bugs get fixed.

Contact Google support.... I'm sure they can help you out.

My pixel 2 XL has never once dropped off of wifi since I got it. I use it almost exclusively on wifi, never had a problem.

On Android O and now the Android P beta I'm not seeing any wifi drops.

It may be your network.

No wifi issues here on O or P. I'd first check router then if on P revert back to O if router checks out ok. I

In over 6 months I've never had any WiFi problems with my Pixel 2 XL. How old is your router and when was its firmware last updated? In all likelihood that's where your problem lies.

I had several issues with my 2XL shortly after updates. I think some units are move prone to these than others. I ended up returning it. I currently have a Pixel (1) XL and a Samsung S9+. The Pixel is over of those refurbished ones that from Woot that Android Central recently advertised. Not having any issues with it and I prefer it's screen to the XL 2.

Could be units with borderline bad hardware or corrupt software.

This is what pushed me to give up the Pixel between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi that was enough, OnePlus now Zero issues , too bad it was a good phone

Me too. That's why I went back to Samsung. Although Samsung has other issues, in my case battery life is terrible on my S9+. A hard reset resolved this for a week or two. Still not great. Gets annoying after a while not finding phones that are without serious issues. I went as far as trying an iPhone X. I returned it after getting the hard reset on the S9+ to seemingly sort out the battery life, but only because of the price. It's a surprisingly nice phone, and I generally hate iOS.

I have the Moto X4, it is also dropping WiFi. My wife's X4 doesn't seem to be doing it, but she connects to the 2.4 band I'm on the 5ghz band.
Both phones using Google's fi service, purchased from Google.

I haven't had any issues with OG Pixel or Pixel 2 dropping WiFi. I have Google WiFi router at home, but even at the office where we have a much older router set-up, P2 hasn't had any issues that I am aware of.

I have trouble connecting to Tapatalk and Android Central apps with wifi. I often have to turn wifi off and use cellular to make posts or to read them. I don't have the same issue with most other apps, but Tapatalk is seriously bad for me on wifi. Even this post just has connecting to server spinning for ages. Had to switch to data to post it.
