I'm pretty amazed at the quality of the photos coming from my Pixel 2. After transferring the images to my computer, most of the usual exif information is available. However, I'm missing any reference to portrait mode (other than the special file name) and exposure compensation. Is this information stored with the image? And if so, what Windows software tool would reveal it?

I use Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop CC and the orientation of the original image is stored in EXIF "Dimensions".
4032 x 3024 would be landscape
3024 x 4024 would be portrait

Using the Adobe Lightroom Android app camera, I can also save my images in DNG Digital Negative Format as a RAW image and thus be able to work with the full resolution of the Pixel camera rather than allowing the built-in Pixel processor to compress the original RAW data to a JPG before saving it, thus throwing away much of the originally captured RAW data.

Thanks . . . I was referring to the portrait mode (as opposed to portrait orientation), which is an amazingly good workaround for macro photos.

Does Adobe Lightroom show exposure compensation (+2.0 to -2.0?)

Although you can control exposure when taking the picture with both the default camera app and the Lightroom camera app, the EXIF data doesn't show exposure compensation in actual EV.

What photo processing software are you using on your PC?

For simple cataloging and resizing, I use ThumbsPlus or FastStone Image Viewer. For editing, which I rarely do, I use PaintShop Pro, paint.net, or PhotoShop.

Thanks for the info about lack of EV data. That's a disappointment.
