Hi,

I have a Google Pixel 2 and I noticed that either with the squeeze of the Active Edge or by keeping pressed the home button sometimes the Google assisted seems deactivated.

When checking the Play store I also noticed that if I search for Google Assistant this is not installed and it advise me that this does not exist in my country (Switzerland)

But how come sometines it works and sometines not? It looks like it install and uninstall itself.

Thanks

The Google Assistant app shows up in the Play Store because some devices don't have it directly integrated with the Google app -- that isn't the case on the Pixel 2, so you don't have to worry about seeing it available in the Play Store. It should be automatically on the phone.

Are you saying that sometimes when you squeeze the phone, nothing happens at all? Do you have a case on? Some cases make it harder for the phone to detect a squeeze. You can also adjust the squeeze sensitivity.

I have a Speck clear case on my P2, and the squeeze for Assistant doesn't work at all, even though I have the sensitivity toggled all the way up. Then again, maybe it's because I have RA, and my hands aren't very strong any more. I've not gotten into the habit of using the Assistant anyway, so I guess I'm not missing anything!

Does it work with case off?

I can't get the case off. The salesman at Verizon had a tough time even getting it on the phone, and there's no way I can take it off. I need to go back in and have them take it off so that I can clean the dirt out that has gotten in from me doing yard work!

it's true that cases can affect Squeeze sensitivity. Hope your issues get resolved, everyone!
