Pixel 2 Pricing vs. iPhone

It's funny to me that Google is charging the same price for a Pixel 2 XL with 128GB as Apple charges for a 256GB iPhone 8 Plus. What's up with that Google? You could've at least given us 256GB for that price ($949)! Someone said that Google's new hardware strategy is to follow Apple's. IMO, they'd do well to remember that they DO NOT have Apple's following (loyalty base) when it comes to hardware.

Ummmm iPhone 8 Plus 256GB is £949 while Pixel XL 2 (with more advanced display technology and smaller bezels) is £899. They aren’t the same price.

Shouldn't Pixel 2 XL compare with iPhone X? iPhone 8 plus is like a slight upgrade from the previous 2 generations with same design.

I suppose the 2XL would compete with the iPhoneX at the moment but Google is going to launch the Pixel Ultra for that...
Really 128 GB without an expandable slot is just not on Google

I believe he is using the us pricing. (they are both 949 before tax here)
