Pixel 2 running Pie (9) dialed phone by itself

[Android Central Question]

Riding a bike using Trekz Titanium earphones, listening to a book. Book stopped and the phone started to dial a number. Then Google Voice came up and asked for my name so the call could be connected. Had to stop, get off the bike but with bright sunlight, the screen could not be read. This is only the latest example of what is making life so frustrating. Any guidance as to what I can do to make this phone behave?

Welcome to Android Central! I'd guess it's an issue with the headphones rather than your phone. Something on the phone might be triggering Google Assistant. Try contacting AfterShokz Support about it: https://help.aftershokz.com/hc/en-us

As a temporary workaround, you could try turning off Bluetooth access to Google Assistant. Open the Google app, tap Menu>Settings>Google Assistant Settings>Phone>Other Hands-Free Settings, and turn off the toggle "For Bluetooth Devices."
