Considering that I could get them at a same price, the difference will be the phone and battery life.

For anyone who have used them both, are the size difference huge? Does it have a design like iPhone 6s plus which has a very band in hand fell? There are no display unit around me so I have to rely on phonearena where I noticed it has the same size as my previous LG Optimus g pro. Nice to hold but unable to reach the other corner although I will install gmd gesture control for basic navigation on both side of the screen and fingerprint gesture for notification center. The xda edge sense plus app may mitigate some of the issue with per app setting. I'm fine with using one handed keyboard as well. Ergonomic wise I would lean more towards the non xl version but currently using a Xperia x sometimes I still couldn't reach the other side (small hands) and have to use it two handed.

Using Xperia x I managed to get around 3 hours screen on time 13 hours since unplugged (half WiFi half lte) granted that I'm using helix engine app and tone down a lot of cpu frequencies but it is still smooth (thanks to Sony) together with magisk sysconfigpatcher. Will the smaller pixel 2 achieve better result and will kernel helps? I prefer one and a half day use with at least 5 hours of screen on time as I dislike charging overnight and prefer to charge to 100% instead of topping up a bit. How is the battery life between pixel 2 and the xl version and are the difference huge?

Ps: blue tint doesn't affect me but I'm more concern on LG panel quality after long term use.

Pardon my English and thanks in advance for the advices.

Welcome to Android Central! I have a 2 XL, but haven't used a 2 myself, so I can't compare the in-hand feel. The phone is big, but it's rare that I actively think that while I'm using it. It's only when I'm using it one handed and have to tap something at the upper left. (My hands are size 7.5 for gloves, or right on the border of Medium and Large.)

The only annoying screen issue is that when you turn the brightness down to maybe 50-60% or lower, the shadows get crushed pretty significantly, which isn't ideal if you want to watch videos in a dark room with the brightness turned down.

The 2 has a nice feel, although mine is always in an Otterbox Defender (all my phones always are). The size if handy, but I'm a "2 handed cell-phoner", so a larger size actually makes it easier for me to type and get to little spots I have to tap, but after 4 years of Note 3s, I wanted a smaller phone. (I find I have to use a stylus, though - which I did with the Note 3s anyway).

Battery life? That's so individual that you'll see the same phone as "I've never gotten such long battery life" and "this thing hardly lasts 3/4 of a workday". With my current usage pattern - mostly standby, most of the rest looking things up for questions here, I get about 2 days. Again - that's me - I got the same thing with Note 3s. (And I turn Battery Saver on as soon as I turn the phone on.) I also run between 80% and 40% charge - since I run Magisk, I run MCS, so I can leave the charger plugged in and it stops at 80% (and shouldn't start charging again until it reaches 39% - I'm not sure how well that works yet), and I have a GSam alarm set for 39%. That keeps the battery doing the same thing for a lot longer. (I plan on keeping this thing for another 3-1/2 years. When S comes out, I may get a new phone, but they'll update it through R.)

But the difference between them? All I can tell you is that I'm happy with the 2, but I wouldn't be unhappy with the 2XL if the screen didn't burn in. (I just wish the battery were replaceable and they had included an SD slot.)

I've had both and decided to just keep the Pixel 2. It's a pretty big size difference. Pretty similar to the difference between the Nexus 6P and 5x. The XL has the the big higher resolution screen without too much bezel but I prefer the screen quality on the smaller Pixel 2. Performance is great on both and although the Pixel 2 battery life can't match the XL it's more than good enough to last a full work day on moderate usage.

The 2 XL is about half an inch taller and a quarter inch wider. They're the same thickness, and the XL is about 20% heavier than the smaller one, which makes me prefer the smaller one to carry and the XL to use.

Battery life on the XL is better, but not by enough to be a dealbreaker for the little one.
