Pixel 2 warranty ?

If I buy a used pixel 2, is the warranty still good. I read google doesn't allow one to transfer the warranty from the original owner. I also read you need to produce a purchase receipt when making a warranty claim.

So is does buying a used pixel 2 mean the warranty is now void?

The warranty itself specifically states that it has to be "original retail purchase in its original packaging by you": https://support.google.com/store/troubleshooter/3070579#ts=7168940,7544604. There is nothing in the warranty that addresses warranty transfer, so what's stated there is pretty much final -- you have to be the original purchaser of the brand new phone for the warranty to be valid. Sorry!

Good find! But that's only if you bought the extra Preferred Care warranty. I wonder how that works -- if a used phone has Preferred Care, but doesn't have the manufacturer's warranty. I assume Preferred Care includes all aspects of the manufacturer's warranty.

And that's only if you are allowed to keep the preferred care - when I originally purchased my Nexus 6P I did it on Google Fi; about a year later I transferred to Verizon and they automatically discontinued my preferred care (even though I was still making monthly payments on the phone). Go figure.
