pixel 2 xl running hot more often now?

Has anyone seen an increase of there phones temperature? Just charging it in an 80 degree room the temperature stays around 104 degree's Fahrenheit. And using the device it stays between 96-102 degrees Fahrenheit depending on my brightness. When using a mobile hotspot and charging, not using it it gets to nearly 109-110 degreees Fahrenheit, it seems excessive

My Pixel 2 XL has always felt warm when charging.
It doesn't feel warm in normal use.

What app are you using to measure the temperature? I fired up DevCheck https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.devcheck and then watched a 10 minute YouTube video - as it was finishing I switched back to DevCheck and the temperature was 89° F - quite reasonable; the phone (Pixel 2 XL) didn't feel warm at all through the case.

My smaller Pixel 2 would also get a little warm when charging.
