Pixel 3 or Galaxy S9?

My girlfriend has been using the Galaxy S7 for about two years now and I am looking to upgrade her to a new phone later this year. I have been contemplating between the Pixel 3 and the Galaxy S9? Which phone do you think will be the superior choice?
