Pixel 3 XL no longer shows time in status bar after Android 10 update. Driving me crazy!

[Android Central Question]

After update my Pixel 3 XL no longer diplays the time in the top left hand corner. No biggie when I'm on the main screen but if I am in an app or on the trending screen there is no time displayed. anyone else having this issue?

Try restarting the phone once or twice - it MIGHT help.

Tried that's few times ... No change. Now my time on my flip clock shows an hour behind.

Welcome to the forums. Did you enable in the past the System UI Tuner through the Developer Options or any third party app?

Maybe the old setting is still there hiding the time in the status bar. Can you see the UI Demo mode in the Developer Options? Are you still using the same app that maybe triggered that change (Nova Activities ...)?

I never did anything with those settings....not even sure why I turned on developer options. Did not see anything related to the status bar in the options tho.

Do you have Nova Launcher installed or did you use it in the past? Do you have any similar app that allows creating shortcuts to the Activities?

I do/have not. Before this phone I had an iPhone.

Not sure what else to suggest. Just to be sure, can you see the System UI Demo mode in the Developer Options? If so, tap it and see which options includes.

I looked and didn't see anything related. I also turned that off since. I think it's just a buggy update. May need to downgrade back to 9 and try again.

I can suggest reset network in phone settings? And make sure auto date time is checked

That technique using Nova Launcher Prime is what I use to add "seconds" to the time display. I trade stocks on my Pixel 3 XL on a short term basis and I need to know what the time is down to the second.

That is weird.

Download the app System UI tuner. Go into app, seleact Status bar, scroll down till you see clock. Play around w the three clock options and see if that forces it on??? Weird.
