I'm a low-profile person - don't like to be noticed, and really don't ever want my phone to ring and draw attention to me.

My last phone had a loud enough vibration that I could hear and feel it.

The 3a's vibration is so muted that I often miss calls, even with the phone right next to me.

Is there a way to make the vibration more evident?

Probably not. But I'd still like incoming calls to generate enough attention that I can hear them from within 5 feet, but others farther away can't.

Any suggestions, other than to play with the ringer volume?

Ringtone Maker will allow you to increase or decrease the volume of the ringtone. And if you can find a recording of a buzz, you can set it to the level you like with the ringtone volume set all the way up. Then use that as your ringtone.

Or you can make a recording of decently lout short taps, say one every second for 5 seconds, and use that as your ringtone. Loud enough to get your attention, but not enough sound to get anyone else's attention.

Have you made sure the vibrations are set to high?

Settings>Accessibility>scroll down to Interaction Controls and hit Vibration

I'm using the 3xl and assuming you'll have the same settings

My unlocked 3aXL doesn't have the option to turn down vibration intensity. That's odd.

Pixel 3a/3aXL doesn't have it. I really want to know why Google messing with the options for this phone. I keep missing calls and messages. This phone is overrated. Terribly overrated, because everybody just cares about the camera.

This is a feeder phone to get you to move up to their more expensive phones. If they give us all the same stuff the flagships have they wouldn't sell any flagships lol. Although according to the numbers the pixel 3's aren't selling too well anyway.

The 3a line is going to be their big sellers ;-)
