Pixel 4 reviews

But why should you have to turn of one of the tent pole features to eek out just a little more battery life?

That’s kinda the point of my post. You shouldn’t have to do that. That’s why I’m considering the OnePlus 7T, but I’m not sure if I want just okay cameras.

A whole lot of not recommended reviews coming in, watched 3 already. I believe there would be more, but many reviewers tow the line by not wanting to completely bash Google.

Largely around:

Weak battery results
small 64gb storage and only up to 128gb
using older UFS 2.1 flash storage vs UFS 3.0 which is 2x faster and now used by the Note/One Plus
no 4k60
no wide camera
removal of wide camera on front
face unlock not supported by apps yet, back to passwords
removing free unlimited photo/video storage
radar gesturing is just a sales gimmick, few uses
no increase in charging speeds since Pixel 1 at 18w
using the older 855 chip when other flagships are on 855+
same standard camera lens as Pixel 3, which will receive the Pixel 4 software upgrade diminishing P4 advantages

If one were to turn off the 90Hz display, would battery life increase?
Yes but it doesn't use 90Hz for everything. I believe it has an auto mode that determines when it doesn't need it if I understood correctly. I'm not sure if you can force it manually but I would assume that exists or should exist.

To gain battery life for the same reason people turn off other features that are not always required.

You can get some great shots on 1+7pro but conditions have to be there , but they sending another update to the camera soon ...so stay tuned

Ouch. HELLLZZZZ no. Go so many if these fingerprint login apps. I can't go back to passwords. Definitely staying with Note 10+ until pixel 5 xl is out then.

Maybe they're hoping they will sell more 3s this way.

The 90hz screen is a major feature. If you wanna turn it off get a pixel 3a. There I saved you tons of money.
You're not saving me any money because I'm not buying it. I was answering the question as to why anyone would turn it off. The Pixel turns it off when it's not needed because you don't need 90hz for everything, but I guess you missed that part of the show.

Actually you did miss the part and that is surprising considering you quoted the man. One user asked if 90hz is turned off could he get more battery. Someone else replied why would he turn off a feature like that. You replied what you replied which has nothing to do with the initial question. Google scaling back to 60hz and the user completely turning off the 90hz feature are two different things. Flew right over your head

No it doesn’t. Turning off 90hz completely isn’t the same as keeping it on and let the software go up to it or down to 60hz. Don’t see how you don’t get that.

We're talking about saving battery either way. That's my only point. I personally wouldn't turn it off and I also don't worry about battery life because I can top off during my daily routine.

This phone is getting roasted. I just read an article where this girl said the selfie camera distorts her face. It also won't recognize her if she is wearing make up.

Wowzers.
