Pixel 4 reviews

I read that, good news. I thought Google said during the announcement there was no change in charging.
I didn't watch when Google launch and them talking about the pixel 4 but been reading articles about it and pixel 4 also can fast charge on other Qi fast wirless chargers unlike pixel 3

I can't wait for true wireless so you can charge your phone remotely.

Sure if you turn everything off. What's the point of having all these features if you can't use them????
The only thing I ever turn off when not needed and if I remember is Bluetooth and WIFI. I do optimize for apps that I don't need running in the background but other than that I agree. There's no point turning off features that improve the overall experience, especially if that's why you bought the phone.

I always forget about turning Bluetooth off, does that help with the battery much?

I don't know how much but if it's searching for devices it's using something. During my normal usage I'm usually able to top off so battery life isn't as important to me but I conserve where practical.

Had a P4 coral/orange/?? 64 GB - it is on its way back to Googleville. Had it all set to return once and decided to give it another try - the 2nd try didn't last very long. It didn't do anything for me that my P3 couldn't do and cost way too many of my $$s. 1st Pixel I have not been happy with.

My experience with Google customer service was not much better than with the phone. Somebody ought to train the CS people to STFU and listen to the customer. My divorce was less complicated than returning the P4, but way more expensive.

Now I am back using the P3 64GB black phone in a black case and all is well again in the land of the Masked Man -

Last time I checked him out he was pretty much just doing Windows stuff. Now he covers a lot! Thanks for the heads-up!

Yep over the last few years he has expanded out of Microsoft and cover all companies now. Yeah I like his tech coverage a lot.

I am ok with the 4xl battery at least I think I can go full day but the screen brightness is deal breaker for me because I like to watch movies on my phone and I prefer full bright beautiful screen.

^^ This is has bothered me more and more the longer I have used. I said on another thread that overall I am finding the XL just unremarkable and I think the dim screen does contribute to that feeling.

Ouch. HELLLZZZZ no. Go so many if these fingerprint login apps. I can't go back to passwords. Definitely staying with Note 10+ until pixel 5 xl is out then.

Most password managers now support face unlock so whilst not ideal it is not the show-stopper it appeared to be at first.

With reviews I'm starting to be more skeptical as I experience the same devices at home and don't see the shortcomings as often or frequently as I'm led to believe I should by the reviewers, and more so with battery life when I see so many threads of substantially longer SOT for different devices than what reviewers stated they would get. I agree with others that the initial process of the review they are using the phones more than they normally do as they are likely using it for personal and review use at the exact same time. These reviewers should be given more time with the phones so they can truly get a better grasp of daily use. I feel they are a valuable tool that lays the groundwork for my decision but they are not my deciding factor when looking at getting a phone. I think if they had given these phones a slightly larger battery and a brighter display then it would be championed as the phone of the year. Lets see what a year makes with the 5.

The Pixel 4 actually wasn't a phone I was going to get. I was/am happy with my Note 10+. Having had each of the previous Pixel phones, these reviews just didn't add up. I just couldn't believe it was as bad as they were saying. Turns out I was right. I love this 4 XL. The only "negative" that I will agree with is the video camera. I wish we had 4k 24fps and 4k 60fps, but that is far from a deal breaker. A wide angle would be nice but not a huge deal.

I do think they are about $100 - $150 high on price but that's true for almost any phone these days. I got $100 gift card that went towards a TV I needed so I'm good with it.

Bottom line is this is a great phone and it's really unfortunate the way reviews have been handled There are YouTube influencers that I have respected in the past not giving accurate info to the public just to rush a review out. It's a shame and will definitely change the value I put in reviews.
