Pixel 4 worth it?

A phone choice is very personal and although reviews can give a subjective opinion of a phone, in the end you have to choose for yourself.

I love my 2XL but since I moved to the 4XL I can say I am happier. It is slightly narrower than the 2XL, which matters to me, due to nerve damage in my hand. I can happily use it in a case, whereas I couldn't use a case with the 2XL.

I like the new assistant and face unlock is ok. I have kept my banking apps on my 2XL to use fingerprint unlock with them. This is my only gripe. But I really love my 4XL and I know it will only improve with age.

The 4 XL is a fantastic device. The only real drawback I saw with it was the lack of fingerprint scanner. Otherwise, it was in the running for my next device purchase.

Only reason I returned mine... Too many apps for me without Face ID ... I'm sure more will be added hopefully sooner than later ..

Pixel 4 or Pixel 4a? Seems like the 4a will be a good device, but idk about giving up the "premium" build coming from pixel 1.

That is a hard toss up, to be sure. But I've heard so many great things about the "a" line - I'm sure if you were to get it, it would feel just as premium as the 4. :)

It would still get 3 years support? I'm waiting for details on the 4a, which I know should trickle out soon.

Definitely agree with what you say, plus the 4 series more ram , better design, can wireless charge fast not only pixel chargers but others and 90hz display ...best pixel so far

Best Pixel so far is faint praise, indeed. I love stock Android but the Pixel hardware is blah at best. 6Gb of memory and 128Gb of RAM, tops, at $876 on Amazon is not good. What you gain over a Pixel 3 is negligible in most cases and with the fingerprint scanner it's a negative.

I didn't get a Pixel 4 and it will take some significant improvements, especially in the camera hardware, to get me with a Pixel 5.

I jump on the pixel 4xl because I like the pixel series , if it wasn't for 550.00 black friday deal I wouldn't have gotten it until much later but I'm very happy with this device , except only complaint is little bit of the frame black paint chips easy by the edge and its been in a case but hardly noticeable but shouldn't be .

If you didn't get a 4 how do you know the gains from the 3-4 are negligible?

To me going from my pixel 3xl to 4xl was a improvement

Agreed. Moving from the 3XL to the 4XL was a very noticeable improvement for me also. Having the 4XL and then having to go back to he 3XL or a month before getting another 4XL solidified that experience.

I guess if the only way you can evaluate a camera is to spend $900 I'm just screwed. Of course, only and ***** would think that.

I am delighted that those who are delighted with their Pixel 4 and think the price was worth it are happy. I wouldn't have been. A camera improvement of a 2x telephoto didn't do it for me.

It was overall not just camera , camera felt same as pixel 3xl maybe slightly better , I know some missed the wide angle .

Dang, I must have missed the docs that stated the only change made was in the camera.

Then I'm glad I didn't say it was. They also shot up to 6Gb. I wanted to like the Pixel 4 but in reading about the new phone and its new price I wasn't going to bite. I'm happy with my Pixel 3 and my Huawei P30 Pro. If you're happy with your Pixel 4 I'm happy for you.

When I was shooting with a DSLR using zoom lenses my software told me what focal length I shot at. I was far more often hitting the wide end of my lens than the telephoto end. It does depend on what you're shooting. I kept track for a few months of normal use and wide-angle was clearly important for me. My brother-in-law shoots birds and doesn't understand why I would want wide-angle.

Lots felt your way for the wide angle, sure I would loved if pixel 4xl would of included it but it didn't , so that wasn't enough for me to not get it , I respect even the members that got it and tried it out for 14 days and gave it a fair try, not everyone going update to next model every year.

I like the way it feels in my hand. Very slightly narrower than my 2XL. Not by much but significant enough for my poor nerve damaged hand. I like its speed and it smoothness. I like the new Google Assistant and prefer it to the older version. For me that was the feature I upgraded for. I don't take wide angle photos. I take mainly my cats and I use the telephoto lens more than the normal one. So I can take their pictures without sticking a phone camera in their faces.

I have actually disabled motion sense but it made zero impact on my battery life. So I may re-enable it soon.

I use my phone a lot. At least 6-8 hours a day, so I have to charge it. But the wireless charging is so convenient. Better than my 2XL for that.

I don't use my phone for receiving phone calls because I'm deaf. I have to be in a quiet room in my apartment with my Bluetooth headphones to make a phone call. I do text messaging and, of course, use a lot of apps like calendar, contacts, maps, GMail, message, and Keep but my biggest battery use is camera and photos. My phone notifies me that Wear OS is using power but for me it's not noticeable. I use Google Assistant a lot, I'm a trivia nut, but I have the oral cue turned off on my phone and my watch and my Chromebook. Google Assistant lives in my Google Home devices.

I play no games, listen to no music--duh--so my phone has low on-screen time. Even with my usage my Pixel 3 occasionally needed recharging during the day. I really like the rapid charging although I don't really need it now and I can easily get two days on a charge on my current phone. It's a bit heavier than my Pixel 3 and a bit large but I'm deaf but not feeble. I'm rarely at a desk so I don't use wireless charging.

I'm quite happy for anyone who enjoys their phone, whatever it is. Even Apple, I suppose.

I think the Pixel 4 is worth it. I bought the 4 XL and the phone is super smooth to me. I can definitely see the difference with the increased screen frame refresh rate. The phone is fast. I haven't really tested the camera too much but I am excited to do so. Face unlock works really well. I love face unlock so much better than fingerprint reader. No notch and the size is perfect for me. 3700mah battery is more than enough for me. I love the phone. Will be keeping it for two years and will be happy as can be.
