pixel 4 xl to pixel 5

Thanks for posting. It will be interesting to see to see how much faster Google can push imaging with the Snapdragon 765G without the neural chip, given that:

"The real power with the Pixel Visual Core, however, was that it was capable of running five times faster than the image processor found on the Snapdragon 835 and used much less energy."

It will also be interesting to see real world battery life given this.

I agree , the one guy mention that HDR suffered a little from not having the Neural chip , but needs more testing.

Over the last few months as I read the rumors about the upcoming Pixel 5 all I could think was " I really hope this isn't true!" I am so incredibly disappointed that Google has not made any significant improvements to the phone. In fact, I would say they have actually downgraded the phone in several areas.

I've been using Android phones for years. I have had all of the pixel phones. I have had several Nexus phones. I think at this point I'm over it. I really like the pixel experience but I'm incredibly disappointed in the hardware that Google is putting out. I haven't had an iPhone since the iPhone 3G and I think I'm going to give Apple another try. Maybe I will be back for the Pixel 6 if Google gets there act together, but I highly doubt they will.

What you think about other android phones , no interest?

I really like getting the regular software updates and always getting the latest operating system in a timely manner. It's been a few years since I've had a Samsung phone which would be my top choice for an Android phone, but when I last had one Samsung was awful sending out updates.

I could live with the slightly slower chip but dropping the telephoto lens, QHD screen and Active Edge (which I use all the time) make the P5 a no go for me. Why Google refuses to do a triple camera set up when even mid range phones have them these days is beyond me.

See for me, the active edge isn't the deal breaker... it would be nice to have, but I could live without it.

Gotcha, they been way better for security patches , but OS update still behind

Edit:. But usually in OS updates samsung has all the good stuff in their software before it comes out to Android

They did drop the active edge :(

I'm going P5, trading in my unopened replacement 4xl that Google just sent me.

4080 battery with 6" screen will be a good battery life.

I prefer fingerprint in the mask situation.

Max screen brightness for 5 is 673 which is better than the 4.

No soli is good, it didn't do crap. The lack of bezels and punch hole cam are better then 4xl notch and bezels.

I don't game so 765 won't matter.
