The pixel introduction was being a high end device, then market changed and they needed a midrange phone , I think they should stick to that both versions , its rough times i understand but listen more to what customers want .
I think after years of their flagship pixels flopping, and the 3a and 4a being Amazon's best sellers, they realized where the money's really at ;-)
I don't think we'll be seeing any more $1000 pixels. But you have to remember we're spec nerds here, the average phone buyers are going to see the pixel 5 price along with 5G and say I can get a pixel with all these features for 700 bucks, or probably less through their carrier's deals. And they'll use them never noticing any lack of specs.
I think this was the only way forward for the pixel line. I'll take a pixel 5 over no pixel any day of the week lol.
