Pixel 5 vs OnePlus 8T Camera Test

It's subjective for sure and I think the Pixel is the clear winner here, I typically prefer Samsung and Apple over the Pixel results, those OnePlus photos look bad to me.

Alot of OP photos have always had a yellowish/orange hue. Although it's improved with the 8 models, you can still see it. Especially in the early example photos. Regardless, a really good shooter

Looking at the photos, it seemed to me that OP photos now have more of a blue tint to them. IMHO, the ones that really stood out for the Pixel was the selfies and the neon sign, as both looked washed out to me. On the whole, I'd say the Pixels looked more true to life than the OP photos, whereas the OP looked like they were trying to change the look to give them more "pop". I'd prefer true to life photos, and if I want to give them more "pop", I'll use a photo editor, because it's a lot harder to take a punched up photo and make it true to life than the other way around.

I think these kinds of "camera tests", though helpful, often result in disgruntled discussion. It's hard to pick a winner, and specs alone don't always do the job - you gotta take your own pictures to make your own decision.

Camera performance is quite subjective. A photo that one user may love is a photo that another may not think is of good quality. Peronally I thought the Pixel 5 performed well, but both cameras give good shots.

Truth...

Exactly, it's user preference.. Some people like saturated photos some like more subtle natural... Unless a phone has specific issues most will take most shots well.. Some will do certain things better for some.. You are viewing photos from a third decive... You have so many variables.. I always say keep it simple..

I agree with you - there are so many variables. I like my Google Pixel 2 *and* my S10 cameras for different reasons. Each phone's camera will be more capable in different lightings/scenes/instances. It's up for the users to decide!
