Pixel 6 Pro Beta 4 update

Totally agree and that makes the most sense.

Besides the phone not being able to be tracked when off, the owner couldn't call it to try to recover it either

Google messed up on the new update. People should have been given the option to opt out without wiping their phones

This is very true. Not sure what that has to do with not letting someone turn off a locked device that they can't unlock being a good security feature.

Has anyone tried to opt out of this beta? I can't seem to ... It'll download the latest public version but I get this screen when I reboot to complete install:

Tried like 3 or 4 times now with the same results each time. After this it just boots back up on the beta.

Only way I was able was using flash tool but you must unlock bootloader to use it. Maybe tomorrow's update will fix that.

Yeah, I was thinking manually flashing may be the only way.

Maybe I'll do a quasi setup and see what happens down the road.

I think it's booting back to the S3B1.220218.004 Beta because that is a March 5 update (newer than the latest public release, which is a February update) And, you cannot OTA an earlier release over a later one. I am hoping that when we get the March 21 update it can be OTA'd and we can get out of this accursed Beta program [fingers and toes crossed]. If so that's the last time I ever give Google any chance at early feedback - they're like a bunch of kindergarden kids fooling around without knowing what they're doing.

Feeling the same way. Sick of screeching in my phone calls. Beta 3 was so stable

Could there be a hardware difference in phone samples? I've never experienced the screeching that others have.

Does anyone know for those who are running beta on the Pixel 6 pro, if we will be getting an update tomorrow.?

" March patch for Pixel 6 and 6 Pro could be available March 21

According to Canadian carrier Fido, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will get the “March SMR & more” this coming Monday. March 21 is two weeks after Android 12.1 rolled out to all other Pixel devices.
