I've been using my 6 Pro for 2 days now and it has crashed and rebooted at random times using a variety of apps no less than seven or eight times. I did transfer over all of my apps and data from my Pixel 5 so not sure what the cause is but may try to a hard reset and install everything manually if I have to. Just wanted to see if anyone else is having Crashes and reboots.

That sucks! I'm sorry you're having troubles, mine hasn't experienced anything similar...

I transferred data from my Pixel 3 XL on Android 11. My 6 Pro has been super stable

Could be something corrupt in your back up , try factory reset for sure

I would try a factory reset like Mustang suggested above, but without restoring from a backup. The backups seem to often times bring problems with them

Well, misery loves company. 😟, My saga continues. I have now tried a hard reset and did not backup from my Pixel 5, as I figured it may be one of my apps or cached data. Unfortunately, it is still (seemingly) randomly rebooting for no apparent reason. It reboots so quickly that I can't tell if it is the Pixel launcher crashing or a full reboot. When it happens, I do have to re-enter my pin as though it rebooted but I can't recall of you need to re-enter the pin when the launcher crashes. I wish there was a log report to tell me what is going on.

I began to wonder if the cheap case I have on it is somehow pressing the power and volume buttons, but that would prompt me to pick an option, not just reboot. I am stumped.

If it is a hardware issue, which I hope it is not, I guess I will send back within the return window.
If it has to go back, I may just return it and use my Pixel 5 or go to the dark side and try the Fold3 for when I want to carry a larger device. I have had every Nexus and Pixel except for the Pixel 4 and love pure Android, but not not sure I love the 6 Pro enough to wait weeks/months for a replacement.

Oh wow :(
Keep us posted what your going to do.

.

On most phones, including my 4XL if a power button is depressed for about 8-10 seconds, it reboots with no options offered. Just turns off then on.

Won't hurt to give it a try without a case for day.

I'm having similar issues, pixel 6 just will instantly go black... sometimes it will restart right away, others it will just stay black for up to 10 minutes from what I've seen since yesterday. Holding power button does not free it up, it just seems to be hung up in the system ui or something. I did factory reset, and downloaded apps one by one. Still seems to be happening after some time of usage....

Are any of you testing in Safe Mode? If any apps are automatically installing without you knowing it, maybe one of those apps is contributing to system instability.

I'm having your problems as well. Pixel 6 Pro. I thought I had it tied to Android Auto, but not sure. I have now started getting on-screen popup errors about USB cable error - but of course I have no cable in at the time, lol. I have reported system logs and feedback for the past 3 days and have received no reply or fix. This phone is about to go back to Google which is really a shame as I love their phones and was really excited to get it. I'm still hoping a hot-fix arises and am on chat hold with google atm

Greetings All,
I feel your pain, I have the same issue. (pixel 6 pro)
I had restored from my pixel 5 backup, device worked perfect until I awoke one morning asking for my pin. Then I noticed the device starting to randomly restart.
I've done 4 factory resets in which 2 of them I didn't restore from backup and the same issue persists.
I sent the device back in for assessment upon I had the device returned to me as "No Fault Found" from the technician.
I got the device back, same issue again. Which is frustrating because I'm enjoying this phone.

I've also tried using pre-installed apps for a day and it still did it. Tried clearing cache for pixel launcher cache which has increased uptime. So far I am 12 hours Uptime.
I'll keep you posted if I have anymore findings.

Welcome to Android Central! So you're saying it happens in Safe Mode? If so, I'd get back online with Pixel Support and emphasize that.

I have exactly the same issue! My Pixel 6 pro reboots around 10-15 times a day. The worst is when it reboots while I'm talking over the phone or I'm doing something important.
Does anyone know how to fix it?

I'd recommend a factory reset and then restore your apps a little bit at a time after you see if the phone is stable with no reboots

If it still does that after a reset, then contact Google for a replacement.

Two days in a row now my 6 Pro randomly rebooted on me. Both times the reboot happened my phone was on the couch next to me, I wasn't even using the phone as I was watching tv when the phone just rebooted itself.

My 6 pro shut down twice while I was waiting in chat for support from Google. I had to grab my older phone to continue the chat and request a refund. Google support was great, but this phone isn't reliable and I'll be returning it today. It is a shame, two pixels that I have owned have had significant issues, the 4 XL with a serious design flaw in the charging system, and now the 6 pro that doesn't function for a good portion of the day. I hate to do it but I will be dropping the Pixel line of phones until they prove to be reliable.
