I bought a brand new Pixel 6 (256GB) one week ago. After updating to Android 13 and Security update March 5, 2023, the MyPhonak hearing aid app failed to connect via BLE. Other Android phones that I have (Android v9 and v11) have no trouble with BLE connecting.
The MyPhonak app is used to control hearing aid parameter settings via BLE. Audio streaming is handled by Legacy BT , and works as it should. The issue is with BLE.
I discovered that by enabling "Disable Bluetooth A2DP hardware offload" in the developer settings the app successfully connects via BLE. Although this issue has been called to the attention of Phonak support, I don't know if it will be addressed by future versions of the MyPhonak app or by Android updates.
I am interested in knowing what others may be experiencing with BLE on phones using Android 13. Any comments are appreciated. Thank you.
