I'm new to the Pixel 6. What does the Black, Square icon in the middle of the status bar represent? Thanks

Can you show us a screenshot? Are you sure it isn't some cutout in your wallpaper that accommodates the front-facing camera punchhole?

When I try to take a screenshot of the Home Screen, the Status Bar disappears. The area does not seem to block the Selphi

Can you take a picture of the phone screen with another device, then share that?

Is that square thing right in the center of the status bar?

Yes, right in the center. I don't have a camera capable of taking a picture.

Try taking a screenshot by holding the Power Button and Volume Down button at the same time.

I recently happened to view the Home Screen with the showows from sunlight just right and I've determined that the Icon IS the Selphi lens. I was wrong again.

I just don't know why it's square, unless it's due to your wallpaper accommodating the punch hole.

Well the area where the proximity and ambient light sensor read through the screen is in fact square, but it is a bit lower than the status bar. @IMANUT46 does this happen to be the location of your mysterious icon?

Actually, the icon is round and smack dab in the middle.
