Pixel 7.1.2 update

Re: 7.1.2 update

Received my update on 4 April (Denver, CO). . . noticed a CHANGE that I haven't seen advertised (but can be annoying if you don't know about it).
For those of you that use Screen Pinning, UNpinning now requires you to press BOTH the Back AND the OVERVIEW buttons simultaneously. BEFORE this update, you simply had to press and hold the BACK button.
FYI :)

Not for me :) Here's a screen-shot of Google's currently advertised method to unpin (Pixel).

Re: 7.1.2 update

Got my 7.1.2 from Verizon. Jury's out on whether there's any improvement for me. As a matter of fact, I might say that my Bluetooth problem is actually WORSE, but there's a lot more testing to do this weekend before I conclude that.

However, one interesting thing did come about during the update. After the phone's restart I got about 4 or 5 text messages from a number I had previously blocked on the phone. Took me totally by surprise. Turns out they were sent to me about a month and a half ago, but I was shocked to see that they arrived at all. They shouldn't have, as the number remains on the block list.

Anybody have anything similar go on?

Re: 7.1.2 update

What is your build number for you Verizon users who just downloaded it?

Re: 7.1.2 update

It matches with what Verizon posted on their website what it would be. Would be nice to know the differences between builds.

Is your phone a Pixel or Pixel XL? I see that version on the VZW update page, but I already sideloaded the "E" version. Oh well....

Reporting that my Pixel XL is now downloading a 377 MB update from "Big Red" (although I bought the phone direct from "Big G").

Re: 7.1.2 update

Where can I get the OTA of the Verizon version? Don't see it on Google page. I bet I can't download it since I already side loaded E. Suspect I will have to side load this one.

Re: 7.1.2 update

Yeah, doesn't look like Google is going to post the Verizon OTA. Guess I am screwed on getting it. But phone is stable with E, so not sweating it too much.

Hey Matty032, I was on the "E" version and I am currently running the VZ ota. What I did was re-enrolled in the beta program which put me back on the 7.1.2 beta version. Then I un-enrolled from the beta program which put me back on 7.1.1 (which of course wiped data), then after setting my phone back up I checked for update and installed NHG47K. The whole process took about an hour. Hope this helps.

Have you seen or noticed any difference between E, and K?

Re: 7.1.2 update

For me it seems a little bit smoother and battery life is better and signal seems stronger.

Re: 7.1.2 update

Absolutely could not download the Verizon OTA update for my Pixel 128, until I had plugged it into the charger. Tried many times. Plugged in, the download was good.
