Pixel 8 cases thread.

Received the Peak Design everyday case today. It's a solid case with really responsive buttons. It seems to offer good protection. What i don't like about it is how slippery it is. The back is a kind of slippery denim type material, and the sides are also pretty slick.
I'll probably send this one back and order the dbrand grip or ghost case.
That's the disadvantage of the fabric type cases since they're so slippery. I know many loved the Google fabric cases a few years back but personally were never a fan because of how slippery they were.

I did a quick post the other day about the various cases that I've purchased through Amazon and after a few more days of trying them out, I surprised myself with what I liked best.
There was a Humixx and Spigen that were very similar (ultra hybrid) and I returned them both.
I received the Tudia Merge and quickly returned that.
Caseology Athlex, gone. Lmao!!
Let me say that every one of these cases was well made and the fit was perfect.
I just wasn't feeling it!
I am currently using the Ringke Onyx again and it has become my favorite, so far.
It's relatively slim, fits perfect and has exceptional grip on the back and especially the sides. Really solid for such an inexpensive case.
My plan is to keep it and the Caseology Nano Pop, which is also a super looking and feeling case.
I've ordered the Bellroy with my google credit and will purchase the Google case when it goes on sale at Verizon or BB.
It's a sickness that I fight every time I get a new phone. I can't stop looking at and buying cases!!

My first Mous case ..too early but feels a little slick and it's definitely slim AF where my SP is even to the edge lol ..I like presentations though

I don't mind if the back is a little slick as long as the sides are grippy. The deep end grip case with a skin makes the back pretty slick, but the sides have plenty of grip. I wish the Peak Design case was the same.

I'm the same way. That's what Iove about the Incipio Grip. I haven't found a better case with so much fantastic grip on the edges. I put some grip tape on the back to make it not so slippery on the back (that's how I've used the case on my P6P since release weekend).

Started with a cheap case from Amazon. It was thick and heavy. Too big for the cupholder on my wheelchair. Just switched to a Mous. Much better. Thinner and easy to grip.

Spigen liquid air armor here. So far it is good. Nice texture to the back. Grip on sides. Slim. Less than $20.

I have another cheap Amazon slim case ordered. X-level I think? Should show up today.

Which Mous case are you using? I am considering the protective magnetic case but the one Amazon review on it complains about weak magnets.

BB has the official Google 8 pro case on sale for $26, so I just ordered it.
It's coming Monday, along with the Bellroy I ordered from Google direct.
I'll then have the Bellroy, official Google, Ringke Onyx and the Caseology Nano Pop.
All for like $75 total when you include my google credit and the various sales that have been going on.

I will say, while I quite like Mous cases, weak magnets are definitely one of their flaws.

I've got my S23 Ultra in one and if I pair it with the Mous charging stand the magnetic hold is so weak that it will fall off with the slightest input of kinetic energy... I've got a mophie 3 in 1 stand as well though and it's fine with that, as well as with wallets and chargers.

If you want the strongest magnets I'd go with Peak Design (if they have pixel 8 cases), their magnets are so strong it's almost a problem lol.

Thanks, I would much prefer not to use a case. That is until I drop it on concrete :). I am using a case I bought on a whim. While I wait for some more to hit the market.

The current case is a bit bulky. It is one of those with the sliding cover for the cameras on the back. When it is closed all the way. It is a bit of a PITA to open.

I have to try the Mous slim case on my car mount ...I'm currently using the Spigen Ultra Hybrid with Magsafe on my iPhone and that thing is strong to the point I have to make sure not to remove it abruptly..I don't think they made one for the P8 smh

I'd love to see you report back on that down the line. Last year's Google made cases were a disaster. I'll be going Spigen Thin Fit when I upgrade from my Pixel 6 but I love the look of the official Google case.
I love mine so far. It feels better than any of the Spigens, etc. that I owned previously and seems sturdier... I'm still getting used to the charcoal color vs my usual black.

Sorry as my pics are a little dark since it was just getting dark after I set my new P8P up at home after work,
So yay- P8P arrived on time woo hoo-- so here are just some preliminary pics front and back. LOL- I now just noticed a small speck of hair on the one front pic so I'll take a better one in the light tomorrow. I love the case. Spigen Ultra Hybrid-clear. Exactly what I was after. Just like the case I had on my most recent phone. Good grip and minimalist. I am most pleased with the case and certainly the phone!!!! P8P front.jpgP8P.jpg

The fact that people take a picture of their phones with their other phones is the norm on this site, and I think that's kinda funny =).

LOL- I agree. And my other phone indeed took that picture. I kept my old phone just as a backup in a pinch and it was the logical device to snap a pic of the new Pixel. LOL though.

I go with the brown fabric or the translucent case, depending on my mood.

The real kicker is when people take a picture of two phones side by side for comparison, taken with a third phone.
Of course, I'd never do something weird and silly like that... Don't look in the flip 5 thread lol
