Pixel 8 Supports Display Output

Hey, I love tech, but I don't root and I don't do mods that require more than a surface level knowledge of how to interact with technology. ..which is why my Steam Deck still only has 256g internal storage.

Yeah, rooting is more trouble than it's worth these days. I've gotten most of the functionality I used to root for by switching to a Galaxy phone, although I don't like being stuck with Samsung.

Agreed. Still emulating everything up to PS2 on my Note 10+. Don't ask me how any of it works, but I got it up and running.

Samsung gets points for having the most freedom and customization, but woe betide the person who accidentally erased the wrong file.

Samsung was the easiest to root/modify by long shot

That's cool but I don't have the patience to root a phone in 2023. I have gotten old and grouchy and Android has gotten so much better than it was when I started with a Samsung Galaxy Prevail. The hardware was crap and TouchWiz sucked. We had some brilliant and talented Devs in Xda back then who pushed it far beyond its limits. I kept that phone for 3 years. I was proud to have it (and broke).

I did install GrapheneOS on an old 4a about a year ago and it's pretty cool (and easy). I keep it updated.

I assume that Google will surface this External USB monitor capability in a future version on official Android. I'll wait for that and cheer on the brave pioneers.

Yeah. The experience has been so good that I haven't felt the need to even go into Nova Launcher on my past devices.

Or maybe it's me being too lazy. I don't know.
