Pixel ALMOST making me rethink my iPhone

I had the regular Pixel for the first three weeks of October and I liked it, but I bought the XL and I'm much happier with it. My wife does have the smaller one and no issues, but for me the larger phone won out.

I absolutely love my 7 Plus, but I get bored easy. I hate the notifications on the iPhone. Apple really needs to fix them. I miss Android and I miss the customization. I think once LifeProof comes out with a case for the Pixel XL, I may buy one again. Then it'd get the water resistance I wanted and I'd probably be happy with it. Until the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 edge comes out. Haha. Such is the circle of life with my cell phone obsession.
Everybody says that but I've never owned an iphone (my wife does). So what sucks about the notifications?

My biggest issue with iPhone is no customization. You seen one you seen them all. Other then wallpapers there is nothing to make it your own. That's why I love Android not only different devices you can make it your own.

Lol we have the same problem. I notice we both pop up in the same forums with every new release. I honestly thought the Note 7 would be my cure. I'd still have it if not for obvious reasons. Miss the heck out of that phone. Still have S7, S7 Active, 6P, 7 Plus, 6S Plus, and of course the XL. Need to get on Swappa and list some but never find the time.

Anxiously awaiting the LifeProof too although I really hate messing up the feel of this device to get the water and dust resistance. It really is the perfect size. Much easier to handle than the Plus. Last LifeProof I had was on the G5 and it didn't mess up the feel of that one too bad so I will give it a chance.

We have a lot of the same devices as well. Currently have a S7 Active, S7 Edge, iPhone 7+ and Pixel XL. Just popped back onto my iPhone 7+ and made a few phones call and the HD voice really makes a difference. I am on ATT and they do not support it on the pixels yet. I have a buddy who wants to my my S7 Active but I wan to keep it for some reason...I would sell my S7 Edge before the Active...

I would say my iPhone 7+ edges the Pixel XL battery in my usage. I rarely if ever see 50% on my iPhone and usually am in the 50's at the end of the day with my pixel XL.

The battery and ruggedness of the Active make it a keeper. I'm in construction so I have an appreciation of the ruggedness of that device. The battery is right there with the 7+. Not my favorite device but definitely the most useful for me. I keep it on my business ATT line and usually roll with the XL on my personal TMO line. Tried the pixel on ATT but until they support VOLTE/HD voice it's a no go

Bro, you named 2 apps, the truth is, plenty of apps just look and run better on iOS. It's unfortunate but thats the way it is. Developers put more work into iOS apps and even Google puts a lot of apps on iOS first. As far as your manage battery on Android, you don't have to manage battery on iOS and it's always consistent, that was my point. I can have so many things syncing, widgets, everything on with iOS and it doesn't affect my battery anywhere near as much. Your Android fanboism is blinding you from the truth that people need to be mad about to maybe fix these issues one day. The Pixel is a step in the right direction but still has a way to go. When you use an iPhone 7, boring or not, everything just feels and looks more polished.

This is coming from a guy that still thinks the Note 7 was the best Android phone and I also own a Pixel, so I don't want to hear that i'm an Apple fanboy.
I named the two most used Google apps on iOS and I know this because both my grandmother and sister has multiple iOS devices and i tweak on them daily. And truth told now days both os'es run apps flawlessly. Android app developer support has gotten way better over the years so like I said those points are now void. It all comes down to if u don't mind having your phone set up for u or if u like to do it yourself between Android and ios.

Just got xl today..
Im coming from ip7plus...
Honestly i dont know which one to give up.. i cant maintain 2 flagships..
Hmmm but im in love with pixel..
I had s7 also but this pixel is really more fluid than s7..
Its really comparable to ios speed..
Battery life i cant tell yet...

I have both and although I love the Pixel, the app quality/stability on the Android side isn't as good as it is on iOS. The NHL app for instance won't save my favorite team, I have to reselect it every day. Many of the Xfinity apps crash left and right.

Highly doubt that seeing as I have most of the xfinity apps on my phone with no issues on my k10 so a pixel should run them better. And apps crash on iOS also at least on my sis ip6 they do.

I don't actually understand the issue with iPhone notifications. I have an android tablet and don't like the clutter of icons in the status bar.
Well the clutter is because you haven't checked your notification center. The issue with iphone notifications is it really lacks an organized and easy on the eyes notification system. It is more work using the iphone notification system than on Android. I feel like on an Android phone your naturally forced into pulling down the notification center and with an iphone you can take it or leave it. If you leave it, you will end up with weeks of notifications which is annoying.

Both Xfinity connect and the remote app constantly crash on my phone. I've cleared data and cache, uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times.

On iPhone they just line up on the lock screen. Hard not to see if you have a notification. Your right though they are disorganized like no ones business. With that said iOS notifications are becoming more rich in content. I can force press a notification (highlight vid) from MLB and the video plays right in the notification.

Yeah idk. I may be the only person who prefers iOS notifications lol but that's fine I can see why it doesn't work for others.

Yup to each is own! I've used android for a while and used iphones for about 2 years and went back to android. Now with iOS 10, I hate how the notifications look and work after using Android marshmallow and nougat. They are so polished and I really rely on using them. Like for instance, right now I'm in my Tapatalk app and I know I have a new email because I see the Gmail logo at the top left. With an iphone you have to either be alerted by that ugly large bar that comes up on the top of the screen which interrupts what I'm doing now, or you have to rely on the number counter that shows on the mail app, but you wouldn't see that until you exit the Tapatalk app.
