You can make the same worn out argument for plenty of other phones.. The Pixel top bezel has different sensor arrangement. The bottom bezel does not have a home button at all.. Does the Pixel have a top and bottom bezel like the iPhone = Yup. Does the Pixel have a screen in-between the bezels like and iPhone = Yup..

If that makes it an iPhone clone in your mind then so be it I suppose.. To each their own..

Well I don't know about that.. You completely missed the point...

All phones have a top bezel and all phones have a bottom bezel. All phones also have a screen in-between these bezels..

1. Resale always drops when a new phone / version of anything is announced.. Not Google's fault!
2. Please show me the announcement from Google saying Nexus phones have been abandoned and won't get updates.
3. Given the unique services alloted to the Pixel is that a surprise?

Google drop kicked Nexus users? Throw users a bone by giving them features which are reserved for a new high end marketed device? Again, c'mon man!

2 I never said they were abandoned from updates. What I did say is that Google is changing the terms of this by making all current gen Nexus users second class behind new Pixel users. Yes they can do that. Does it make it right? For you heck yes not for others.

3 If Google wants to give away special services that's great more power to them.

4 No I don't expect new hardware from them. That's not the point. If it's a hardware limitation fine I get that.

What I and many people here feel that we've been used. We were beta testers for all this and now we find out oh thanks but you won't get any of the stuff that's really good now. So thanks for all the fish but goodbye.

That's the bitter pill we swallowed this week. If you can't or won't understand that. Then that's your problem.

Well that's your problem not mine.

I'll be big here and say that official pronouncements never came from Google.

What I am saying is the way they have treated an enthusiastic community of users is not going to help them. Instead of the previous lines users highly recommending this. You have turned them to talking them down. ATM this is the last phone I'd recommend to anyone looking to get a new phone.

Google can and will act like an arse here. I have new places to look now because of it.

I don't get the price drop issues. I'm a longtime Nexus user, really don't see how this changed the resale value of my Nexus 6p apart from what the value normally drops after a year and newer things come out.

If you are upset about this what about last year this time when retailers dropped the price of the Nexus 6 down to about a quarter of its retail price? That directly impacted it's resale value pretty much over night. You could get it from Amazon for just over $200 brand new.

Things happen, don't ever think of a smartphone as any type of investment.

Who's to say the 6p and 5x won't get the features? It wouldn't make sense for Google to keep assistant to just one phone.

Maybe the Pixel is the beta until they get things fully cooked to put on their other devices. That would be true Google fashion

The Nexus 5 had an exclusive launcher for months before it got to the other Nexus phones. Every year it seems there is something that we Nexus users think happens that is unprecedented but historically there has always been delays with updates on certain models, price differences from year to year...

I don't think I need to be upset about it. Whatever Google has promised us Nexus users, we will still get them! Like the Monthly security updates and Major OS upgrades till they are applicable with in the allotted time period of the phone.
And about being upset about all the new features, Google needs to sell it newest device to customers with exclusive features which you won't find them on anything else. If those features are provided to Nexus users, will any of them upgrade?
Google is doing justice to all and as a Hardware company it needs to sell it's phones.
