Pixel Fold Cases (Post up your choice)

No the hinges are not protected in this case. Personally, not an issue for me.

You might want to go dbrand route, I believe they have full protection.
For sure ...It might be a while, but the dbrand's look nice.

In anticipation of god knows when I will receive my ordered Fold, I got this case. It is definitely not for everyone and is definitely not minimalist. I go bike riding, hiking and cross-country skiing and like to protect the front screen of my phones. It the past I've used Stilgut but at the moment they don't have a Fold case.

It comes in a variety of two-tone colors. Personally, I would have preferred one color and fewer seams/stitching. I could probably also do without the credit card panel.

It protects the hinge and also protects the front screen in a folio or book-like fashion.

And here's the Fold ensconced in the case. It is definitely not a petite, discreet case. I'm evaluating how heavy the plain Fold is versus when in this case. It might be a bit heavy for one-handed use.

Very happy with this Spigen case purchased on Amazon as others have also recommended. Covers the phone but isn't bulky. Good snug fit, and it doesn't inhibit swiping or anything else.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid Designed

I also tried this case - Puroom Case - but did not like it. The side with the kickstand really added to the bulkiness of the phone.

i am waiting “patiently “ for the dbrand case. but in the meantime i have been using the case mate clear case. despite terrible reviews, i like it. it has great grip and seems very protective. using it closed and holding it by the hinge cover is very comfortable. i also have a pitaka case but i’ve embraced the big boys.

I just got the Pitaka case from Amazon. Very happy with it. I like it better than the Spigen I linked earlier. When the phone is bulky, I want the thinnest case I can find. I have always been like that with the iPhone Pro Max and feel the same way with foldable phones.

Excellent I love slim cases that keep the phone closest to its original intended use..I'm rocking the Latercase since day 1 ..Pitaka is a solid choice

I like the carbon fiber cases myself... I have wondered though how well they would protect in a drop.. not much shock absorbing layers vs even a leather case.

It's hard to go wrong with Spigen 😉

They mainly for keeping the sides and back from scratches ..thinking a drop will maybe save some on the back but not the front screen ...

I decided to get same SP I got for the Flip 5 ..and I like the Latercase bc it has the camera bar covered

Easy install just make sure you use them dust stickers

A little improvisation. I tend to use cases that protect the front screen so lean toward Folio or Wallet cases. But all of those seem to have card slots and cash pockets making them thicker than I want or need. Before many folio cases were available I initially got the Caseology Parallax Series which frames the front screen and protects the rear just for basic protection. Then I went with a few folio cases returning those that I really did not like. But always thought about altering the Caseology case with more front protection.

Today I hit the plastic/plexiglass shop (TAP Plastics) and had them cut a rectangle that would nearly fit the Caseology front frame. Then some dremelling (spell checker does not like dremeling either) and tapering and tweaking and temporary blue painter's tape. I will either use clear duct tape. black electrical tape or maybe some monofilament loops to craft a better hinge system.

I'm sure a 3d Printer could do a much neater, better fitting job but the plastic after cutting cost me $3.00 and a 3d printer would probably been more expensive.

Without further ado...

Okay, a bit more tweaking. Beveled and narrowed and changed the tape color. The cover is not cracked at the upper left side. My dremel had a mind of its own and did a bit of gouging. Pictures taken with Pixel 6 Pro and I used magic eraser to remove the reflection in the first image.

I like that idea a lot... I wonder if you could get a case maker to make something custom like that for the front of your Pixel. A long shot for sure, but I think that could be a seller if someone started making it 😉

PS I love that wallpaper... always brings back good memories. I need to get it 😍

That's Mt Baker. I need to figure out which lake I'm looking over. I think the phone at that time (or camera) did not do geo-location (gps).

Well, the electrical tape does not hold very well. It wants to peel off. So, if I'm satisfied with the arrangement, I need to find a more durable and more permanent tape or other hinge arrangement. I probably don't want a tape that permanently sticks to the phone's body or hinge. I'm thinking of my other idea of drilling two or three holes and making monofilament loops to act as a hinge. But I'm open to suggestions.

My friend's picture of me... (Sheesh, it was taken almost nine years ago to the day). My picture is over Iceberg Lake on the Chain Lakes Loop Trail. My Blackberry did have gps!
