What are the advantages/disadvantages of pixel launcher vs Nova?

Nova is far more customizable.

The only disadvantage of installing Nova (if you even consider it an disadvantage) is having to install another app. Other than that, you get all sorts of customization as others mentioned. I personally am running stock.

Will a different launcher allow me to replace the standard Date/Weather at the top of the screen or is there another way to remove that? I use an HD Widget so I don't need a duplicate of the Date and weather.

Nova launcher. So much customization. I still learn new things it can do and I've been using the pro version for many years.

Nova launcher. I don't use Google Search and dont want the Google search bar on the home page.

Nova will allow you to do that.

With nova you have tons of customization options, but lack of some new Pixel Launcher design/features like Actions Suggestions, I personally prefer Nova for the way I can organize my apps grid of drawer/desktop and the drawer folders, also as a KWGT Widget user I personally like the remove padding option that makes my widgets reach the real edge of my screen

use Lean Launcher, Rootless Pixel or LawnChair launcher.
all three launcher's you can change icon packs
