Took a trip to Nevada for a few days. The first pics are to show the Pixel's weakness with shooting into the sun (lens "ring"). I purposely edited it to make the lens ring defect stand out. The second one shows how sometimes in low light the Pixel will jack the ISO so high that noise is VERY evident. Still not a bad pic though for social media etc.

The rest of the pics are from a day trip out to the Valley of Fire State park where the Pixel really showed its strengths. A perfect location to show off the Pixel's excellent HDR and vibrant colour reproduction. Hope you enjoy. I sure enjoyed visiting the park :)

Great pics. Thanks for showing the pros and cons. I always appreciate that.

One thing I'd like to know is whether or not you've compared HDR+ auto to HDR+ on. The "on" version generally gives me better results. The drawbacks are the shutter lag and more noise in the picture. I still prefer HDR+ on if I have the time to compose the image and deal with the shutter lag/processing time.

Yes I have and like you, I prefer HDR+on vs HDR+auto. On auto sometimes it won't take an HDR capture when I want it to. I wish you could set it so HDR+on is the default setting.

This is a result of the assistant stitching together 4 bad photos that I took of Los Angeles. It turned my 4 bad photos into an amazing panorama without me doing anything. I love this phone.
