Pixel vs HTC 10/I'm keeping the 10

Dude, there are some bets that are not worth winning. This may be one of them. Good luck!

I love my Pixel XL, and I expect to skip version 2, but I will be jonesing by the 18 month mark.

I had to take this bet. If I win I get anything I want.

Cool story bro.

Now explain in detail your other post (quoted below for your convenience) about how the Pixel had "immense levels of thought and optimization" that will "reveal themselves" in the future.

Look I get it, you're excited about your phone, but that doesn't mean I cannot call you out for spewing non-factual verbal diarrhea about how great the Pixel is.

I'm willing to be proven wrong, just clarify what exactly is different about the version of Nougat that the Pixel is running. Go on, I have all night.

Once you said you prefer that gagtastic vomit of garbage of TouchWhiz over anythng else on Earth, I discounted all of what you could have said after that. You are riding his back hard, as if your opinion is worth more. In truth, it's worth far less, as you are a Samsuck fanatic.

TouchWhiz is refried hot dog feces, served in a bloody toilet bowl.

@sal2726, at the end of the day. You need to get a phone that makes you smile and that you are proud to show off. The Pixel has its pros over the HTC10 but obviously, the HTC has pros over the pixel. As you said "The chin on the Pixel killed me." i think everyone can agree, this isn't Google's Finest hour, but I'm sure there was a reason for it. :)

If you look at the Blackberry Leap, its also got a big chin at the bottom. So to me, when i help the Pixel, it wasn't so bad. I actually felt at home lol

The Pixel's are nice devices no doubt about that. I had some hands on time with one of each and think I would prefer the smaller one, but that's just personal preference. For me they don't bring enough to the table to make me want one over my HTC 10 tho. Maybe they will evolve enough in another year when my 10 is getting older and I might want to reconsider getting one then. Hopefully the 7.1 issues will be figured out by then.

My buddy has a two day old Pixel. I have the 10. Tailgating on Friday (70s..in November...good grief awesome!). Started at a bar and we took pictures from the same spot at the the same things. Then at the tailgate. Same thing. Pixel pictures are no where close to 10. Pixel is in a league by itself by a very unscientific test. And considering he used it how my wife would use it. A good sign.

Also the screen is beautiful. She wants to be able to use polarized sunglasses in direct sun. Yeah, 10 doesn't do that. He is on ATT and I am on BR so even using LTE discovery doesn't yield anything much. But he usually has good signal and I dont (BR in these areas is awful). Same with him. His dB showed better than mine at all times but I expected that.

Being able to play with his phone at the same time as mine the same way...that was nice. Can't justify moving from the 10 to the Pixel but she is on iPhone 5 so its a huge jump and I get to play with both!

HTC 10 anyday of the week. Pixel and pixel XL aren't worth the price. I will buy any other high end smartphone before I go for the pixel. I've seen horrible reviews about it and also the fact that it's barely available on carriers anymore... 6p was the best and last nexus phone I ever bought and probably ever will... it's downhill for the pixel man... I don't want no part of that. Keep the 10 and you'll be much happier.

Barely available on carriers anymore? You can get it from Google, Verizon, Best Buy and activate it on ANY carrier

Picked up a Pixel yesterday from Best Buy (Verizon branded), and returned it today. I have the 10, and can't say anything about the Pixel blew me away. I will say I am on AT&T, and it worked fine. Set it up with AT&T sim, no issues. Deleted the 3 Verizon apps. Got a software update after setup, with AT&T sim, so doesn't seem to be a problem there. Build quality is about equal, both feel solid. I could not see a difference in screen clarity or brightness, it's LCD vs Amoled, so you know the drill. The chin on the Pixel killed me. I didn't think it would bother me, but it just looks stupid with nothing down there, no home button, etc. The Google Assistant is more conversational, but doesn't really offer a ton more than Google now. Speaker quality is awful. I'm not blown away by the 10's speakers frankly, but Pixel was bad. Camera is better. Pictures have richer color quality than the 10, but I'm not a huge photographer. For the price ($741 out the door for the 32 gig) not even close to being worth that. You are paying top dollar for Google assistant and faster updates, even though the 10 is unlocked. I'll wait for the update on my HTC. In the words of my boy Floss, this is definitely not a Go.

But bro floss gave it a go. The xl anyway.

The screen on the HTC 10 is quite weak and inaccurate compared to the Pixel and other 2016 offerings.

This makes the HTC 10 not even on the considerations list honestly.
