Pixel XL 128GB @ Best Buy?

I found it from 2 days ago. At least I'm not crazy.

Think you solved it. Reddit user was looking at the wrong number.

It's not as simple as a single number, because of the way Android app updates work, but here's a quick breakdown:

 • The formatted capacity of the phone is 29.7GB — that's how much space there is in total.
 • The OS takes up 5.39GB, leaving you with around 24.3GB of space for your own stuff on a freshly unboxed 32GB Pixel
 • ... But updates to built-in apps have to come out of that. Google's demo units had 1.22GB taken up by apps, so a more realistic starting number would be around 23GB

As of earlier today they only had the 32-gigabyte version available for sale. The reason I'm interested in Best Buy is because they have a hundred dollar gift card promotion along with a free Chromecast with the purchase of a Pixel. I'll have to go check the 128 gigabyte version on their website.

I am waiting to see actual user experience before I buy. I have some Best Buy gift cards that I could use, but I am leaning toward wanting the 128 GB version. Maybe BB will carry unlocked and larger capacity Pixels after Verizon's "exclusive" ends.

I am needing to move to another phone since my N7 is going back, and will probably take advantage of BB's promo for the 32GB version. A $299 price, with a $100 gift card (effectively making this a $199 handset from my budget standpoint) and Chromecast thrown-in is all very attractive for a suffering N7 owner. :D

Sounds like a great deal..........

Nice..Is the 299 a contract price? I didn't think they had those?

Yup - contract.

2-year contracts had their issues, typically higher prices due to "hidden" hardware costs. But, if you have discounts deep enough, these grandfathered plans can be good. My 5-line account is less expensive than any "current" VZW plan (where you have to pay full price for devices), plus I get subsidized pricing. It's a win-win. I don't mind agreeing to stay with VZW in 2-year increments. Their coverage is awesome for me, and as long as they stay out of the Pixel update business (leave that to Google), this should work out well.

Done.
Nice to have that decision behind me.
Not an easy one for us former N7 owners.

My Note 7 has already gone back Billy - I'm back running my Note 5 for now! I'm with AT&T so I'm on the Google Store "Wait List" for the "Pixel XL in 128 GB Black!" Thanksgiving Present maybe? :-(

Hi Billy - I know I answered this once but it was a maybe, now it's a done deal. I ordered a 128 GB Quite Black Pixel XL direct from Google Store and it will be here 11/23 - 11/25. They say I can just take it to AT&T and have them put an AT&T nanoSIM in it and I'm good to go. Updates will still come from Google I believe, which is pretty darned cool! (Now that I look back at my previous post, I said "Thanksgiving Present maybe" - pretty darned close!)

Congrats!

Hey, never been on a forum before, and not sure how all this works. I am a Note 7 fanatic and so disappointed I have to give it up. I have always gotten my phone's through Best Buy, and my provider is Verizon. I have had the Google Pixel XL, 32gb, since last Friday and have 9 days left of my 14 day grace period. I preordered it through BB and Love it! I want to get the 128gb device instead and wondering about the best options. Is there a way to sell mine for cash and then order the 128gb? Is there such a forum for that? Sorry, I'm a newbie!

I just called my local Best Buy yesterday and they did not have the 128GB in either one for preorder.

He might want to get it from Best Buy cause they're offering $100 gift card and and a free Chromecast with the Pixel.

Is that only for Verizon?
