Pixel XL Charging Issue

As of last night my phone will not charge unless I restart/shutdown first. It will then charge until unplugged. Once the cable is unplugged it will not charge again until I again restart/shutdown. The issue happens with tow different USB- C cables and two different wall adapters (both from Google).

I am on Oreo 8.0.0 with 10/5/17 security patch installed. I have not installed any updates recently.

Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas?

Just tried safe mode and it did not seem to happen. After restarting into normal mode it is only happening sometimes. Last night while playing audio to speakers via 3.5mm the phone randomly restarted. Today while trying to use Android Auto the phone would not connect for a while, then after it rebooted again on its own, it started working.

I reached out to Google support and they think the device needs to be replaced. So I have a warranty replacement on the way.
