Has anyone had their Pixel completely lock up? It's happened to me eight or so times over the past couple of weeks. It seems to be completely random and requires a reboot.
A tech rep at Verizon, who was troubleshooting my problems with my Pixel XL connecting to Lte ( a bit better since) said that the phones should be rebooted once a day, which is more frequently than I have ever heard or done. But I decided to see if that helped. Can't tell if it did, really, but thought the advice interesting.
There's something wrong if you need to reboot anything near that often. I only have 5 days up time now because of the last update. It shouldn't be uncommon to see phones with 30 days up time before the security update. My 6P generally did that, but did have issues now and again due to apps.
There are tools to help find rogue apps but I'm more of a nuke it approach, flash the latest image Google posted and leave it stock for a couple days. Fixed? Then slowly add apps back. Not fixed? You just did the first couple things support is going to ask of you before warranty claim.
Yes it sucks but I'd rather get past the problem than deal with it for the next six months and think the phone is a POS.
I have to restart every 5 days or so because I'll get a bit of lag and my keyboard won't go away when it's supposed to.

I had to get something, no back up and second Note 7 to return, and I thought Google should have their stuff together with this one, but I wouldn't do it again and I am never buying another phone before it has been out, used and I have read reviews from people who have actually used the thing for at least a month.Geez everytime I seriously think about getting one, I read things like this.![]()
