Pixel XL sold out? Buy an iPhone 7 Plus

I'd love to try an iphone but transferring docs and music to/from our office desktop computers is too cumbersome I'm told.

I like iMessage, but wish you could manipulate the color scheme. I miss the black theme from my note 7.

You can do a quasi black theme on the iPhone

Funny story. After 8 years on multiple flagship android devices per year, I was so off-put by the pixel pricing that I decided that I wanted to go To the iPhone on a whim on my way into work, I stopped at a Best Buy that I was passing and walked out with a silver 256GB iPhone 7 plus with no wait at all.

I liked it so much that I walked into an Apple Store unannounced and picked up a second silver 256GB iPhone 7 plus a few days later - again with no wait at all.

I guess I'm the exception rather than he norm. I wanted a third one, and wanted gold. That one should ship next week.

Just my 2 cents

I guess I don't find buying an iPhone 7 in place of a Pixel that outrageous. I really like the idea of the Pixel, but:
- the two are pretty similar, especially if you use Google apps on the iPhone
- I can buy an iPhone today - a Pixel would be weeks away
- there are some growing pains with the Pixel - lots of reports of Bluetooth problems, no way to wake a Pixel that is sitting on a table without picking it up. The iPhone being a more mature product is less prone to these kind of things.

I'm waiting for Google's next Pixel software update - if they address Bluetooth issues and add a way to more easily wake the phone, then it may be worth the wait. Otherwise, hello iPhone.

Well if Google can't get you this time then maybe on the next round! I plan on getting one at some point.

One thing to keep in mind though...For an new devices line to compete with other higher end models...They did pretty damn good! Good luck with the iPhone. :)

So I don't really get this thread, but wish you the best OP.

Same here but for different reasons. It's like saying, "I want an elm tree but they won't be available for a while so should I just buy a Palm tree"

They basically both serve the same purpose, but they're completely different for different tastes. If you keep your phone for more than 5 or 6 months, then why wouldn't you to wait to get the one of your first choice

I did. Pixel XL is on such a back order and I hate my existing GS7, so I had to get out from under it. Shame really, since the idea of a Google phone really enticed me. I guess Google will hopefully learn from this.

There are worse lessons to learn than to not underestimate your sales.
