Plain Old Google ROM

I recently switched from the Gnex over to the S3. I truly loved and dearly miss the pure Google 4.0 experience of the Gnex. Touchwiz is killing me! I did root last night and am getting set to unlock the bootloader. Are there any ROMS out there that are just straight Google 4.0 or 4.1 out there with the minimal apps? Is there a launcher available that mimics 4.0 to where I could just freeze Touchwiz and get a better experience? Thanks!

Nova Launcher is just a launcher dude. Still bloated with carrier crud and "skins".
Cm10 is decent, but I wouldn't use it as my daily driver.

If you were so content with the GNex why make the jump? This device isn't very AOKP friendly ATM. Head over to XDA and parooze the current 'stable' ROMs.

The Nova launcher comment was valid because the OP inquired about them.

To the OP: In my frank opinion, nothing runs as well on this device as the stock OS...at least not right now. CM10 will probably be the way eventually I go as I too prefer the stock Android experience, but for me, it's just not ready for prime time yet. Of course, I don't find TW that offensive either.

If the AOSP is really what you're looking for, you may want to give CM10 shot...

Or try paranoid android 2.00. Been stable for me. Its my daily driver

If you want pretty much stock ICS/TW ROM that will look and work like the GS3 coming out of the box look into ROMs like CleanROM, Synergy or Beans. They will allow you to select features that you want as well as removed the bloat that you wont need.

If you want a "true" google experience on your device, you are going to have to go with AOSP ROMs like CM10 or PA 2.0. I have been running CM10 on and off and I like it. Every nightly seems to get better and better. Still have yet to give PA2.0 a try but that might be something to do this week coming up.

Over on xda paranoid has nightly builds. I haven't flashed the newest. I'm currently out of town and don't have my laptop just in case something bad happens. So I'll more than likely flash soon.

Paranoid android is working well for me so far on the Sept second build.

EDIT: it's also nice to have tablet mode and software keys and hardware key option.

I haven't tried the software keys yet. I like that they don't hog screen space. (As small as they actually are)
