There is an app in the play store for free download. It has a upgrade for a measly $3.48. However, for some reason Google will not allow me to make the purchase. I found a cracked APK on the internet, but truly I'd rather pay for it. Again only $3.48.

Anyhow when I run the cracked APK, Google pops up a message that it's a hacked app.

The app works fine in every way except for that popup warning

I'm very confused about all this. Can anyone explain what is going on here??

What message do you see when the Play Store doesn't allow you to make the purchase?

Are you using a VPN? Are you certain the app is available in your region of the world? Is your phone being supervised by parents using Family Link?

It could be that you're getting that message from Google because they have started cracking down on sideloading apps. They have been trying to make it close to impossible to get an app from anyplace other than an official source. These "official" places would be places like the Play Store, Galaxy Store, Amazon App Store and other manufacturer and carrier app stores.

As for not being able to purchase the app officially. It is odd that you are not able to do this, especially if you were able to download the official free version. Tell us what... Let's back up.

First please tell us what app this is?

When you try to buy the app, what happens? What do any notifications or pop up message pops up when you attempt this?

Have you looked at any official app stores? Most of the time apps will appear in multiple app stores, so try Amazon, we don't know what device you have, but try your manufacturer's app store.

Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.
