Whenever I install something on my s22, it will install it on my galaxy tablet.

How can I prevent this.

When you install the app from the Play Store, are you tapping the part of the button that says "Install", or are you tapping the down-arrow at the right which brings up all of your devices that the app could be installed to?

turns out I have to press that down arrow and UNcheck my tablet

Glad that worked! If you look at the fine print right under the Install button, it'll let you know if it's installing to your phone only, or to multiple devices. That's a quick way to determine if you have to open the dropdown and uncheck anything.
