Play store creating new shortcuts on new Home Screen

Hey guys

I have a nice new Nexus 5X. 6.0.1

However I have a small issue with it.

I tend to only have a single homepage with shortcuts and folders but every time I install a new app from the store the shortcut is appearing on a brand new homepage, this is annoying me!

Anyone any ideas to get the shortcuts to appear on the single homepage?

There is plenty of space for new icons on my single page I do not know why it is making a new page to add shortcuts?

If you open the Play Store and go to Settings you can turn of the "Auto Add" new apps to home screen toggle.

I know I can turn them off but l like having them on by default.
