play store problem and low system storage.

I have a not widely know karbonn a15 phone running ics. Although it has 4 gb internal memory and a sd slot the 'system storage.' is only 512 mb. So I often get low in space warning and apps from the play store fails to install.

Any way to increase the system space? My phone is rooted.

Also, often apps from the play store downloads 100% but fails to install due to low space. If I free up some space and retry the download has to be started again. Is there some temporary folder where play store keeps the apk or the data.?
Please help.

Thanks. It looks like the tool i need.

But where does play store keeps the downloaded data just before installation? After installation it is easy to get the apk and avoid re download by using apps like 'save master.'
