Play update link from Verizon breaks shortcut to market in drawer

The text message that verizon sent out with the link to the place to update the market works fine. The problem is now that I have updated the shortcut for the market in the top right of the app drawer no longer works. This is really annoying, not because i use it a lot, but because its there it should work. And, now anytime i want to use the market i have to look for some dumb app called play instead of market which i keep forgetting i need to do.

mine works, but I have a custom rom. did you reboot after the update?

You could just put it on your home screen. I changed to Nova Launcher and in the app drawer, its not JUST the play button at the top where the market used to be. You actually have the 3 dots 'setting' button that you have to press and choose play from a short list.

So i just put it on my home screen in the upper right corner.

Delete the shortcut completely and reinstall. This is common.

This is what I did and it worked for me.

I reinstalled the entire update and it fixed.
