Hi all,

I have a bunch of MKV files and had the hardest time finding an app that would play them correctly on my new Infinity. A lot of the media players would play the video but there was no audio.

Finally I came across BSplayer and that plays them all flawlessly.

Just wanted to let everyone know since I'm sure a lot of people want to play some HD movies on your new 1080p tablet :)

BTW-they look great!

Yup BSplayer is one of the best. Yet I have played MKV 1080p files on my Infinity with the stock player and they run flawlessly. Just another reason the Infinity tops the iPad!

How are you playing .MKV files with the stock player? Mine kept failing. I downloaded the free BSPlayer and it plays formats I've never heard of before. I'm so happy with it I'm going to buy the full version. Gotta support those developers.

I'm not even sure myself lol. But they def work with the stock player. MKV 7+ gigs each file and it looks great. The sound is somewhat on the low side but the quality is awesome.

Ok, I found that a couple .mkv's of mine that will start to play on the stock video player, most without audio, but after I use fast forward the player crashes. My best guess is that this has something to do with how the file was created.

Here's something weird, can anyone find the stock Video Player in their apps tray? When ever I play a video it asks which player I would like to use, since I have a couple on my tablet, and it shows the stock video player, but I can't find it anywhere else? The only stock player I can find in the apps tray is the Asus app called "MyNet" and the tablet isn't using that to play videos.

Anyone else think this is odd?

Yeah noticed that too. When I received the tablet I was trying to find the stock video player app but only kept running into the gallery app. I thought maybe asus preloaded some hd video I could show my wife, but I couldn't locate the video app, went to YouTube instead.

I've also used Dice Player, which I love! Uses hardware decoding exclusively, so good on battery life. Allows you to speed up playback, etc.

Worth checking out.

I have always used MX player and have yet to find something it won't play. It also uses hardware acceleration if you want.

Hello, I found the solution to all the video files playback on Transformer Pad Infinity 700 with a third-party software to manage a video conversion.
Source from: Play videos on Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 in full screen.

I don't see this as a solution. The steps provided in that article you linked to, while informative, are way too lengthy and require far too much time. Especially when you can download either BSPlayer or DICE Player from the market place and easily play any file format, no conversion necessary.

Thanks, but no thanks.
