My wife sent me some videos thru a email the other day. She took them with her iPhone. I click on them and they don't play. I installed mxplayer because everybody says it'll work . Yes it works but the video looks likes its playing in FF and has no sound

.MOV files don't play well on Android devices. I tested one out on MX Player on my Nexus 7, and just like you, although the video played, there was a message that the audio format wasn't compatible. Others on the web have suggested RockPlayer, MoboPlayer, or VLC, so give those a try.

Just open the PlayStore and search for mov, and try the movies players on the top search results until you find the one that plays them smooth for you, keep that one and delete the others.

Sent from my HTC One M8

It all depends on what codec the video is. MXPlayer will work well with some, but not all codecs. You can try changing the file extension to .avi or .mpg, sometimes that will let the player think it's a different format and it will play it better.
