Playing music via USB

For some reason my Note dies not play music via the USB on my stereo... Well its my surround sound system that has a USB port... I plug in the note, just like in my car, which works fine but won't work for the USB on the surround system, which is what I need to hear the music in my house..... Loudly.. Lol. Also I plugged in my note in my friends car, which has an AUX jack and my music wouldn't play. Please help me!! )
