playing music when screen is off

can anyone tell me if the feature that lets me switch tracks while music is playing while screen is locked a feature in sense only or is it in stock android. i really like not having to unlock the screen just to switch tracks. i have the droid incredible so i don't know if that feature is part of sense or part of stock android. if it's not part of android, is there an app that will let me do that? thanks.

Some third-party players have lock screen controls of varying functionality and quality. ICS is the first stock Android version to support them for the default Music app; it allows you to pause/play and skip from the lock screen.

I would suggest power amp. You can set it to have music player on lockscreen with full controls. It's great.

Just to build off this comment, yes, ICS added the lockscreen music controls and I love it! It's one thing to implement it, and it's another to implement it well. Google has done it well. The top half uses the album cover and the pause/play/skiptrack icons, while the bottom half looks like your normal/regular lock screen.
