I am attempting to use SMS Backup and Restore to backup a particular conversation thread from Textra. When I go to select the conversations, it seems to NOT include the conversations I'm after in the list. When I try to do a full export of conversations, this thread doesn't appear in the list.

Note that these conversations are very large in size. Could this be the reason they're not available for exporting?

Note it is of utmost critical importance that I am able to somehow, in ANY WAY, export these SMS's off my phone. An important legal case depends on it. I'm in real trouble if I can't do this :( I started using Textra thinking it would be a more reliable SMS app, and now I'm faced with the scary possibility that I can't export the messages to an external format.

I have in the past been able to do this easily with SMS Backup and Restore with the normal SMS app.

Please help. I will do anything required to get these sms's backed up and onto my computer.

Regards,
Gavin

Note I have also recently added an SD card to my phone. is it possible sms backup and restore is only looking on the sd card, and not the phones internal memory (where this conversation would be)??

Can someone, anyone please suggest how I can find the answer to this? It's so important.

Any leads? there must be some way.

Can someone help with this?

Is there any way i can access this sms data to export to my computer? even if i need to go to SDK level or something?

Please? Is there any way I can put a bounty or increase the likelyhood of this being answered?

Long-press the first one. You'll get checkboxes at the left. Check them all, one at a time. Hit the menu (3 dots at the upper-right) and either Copy, then paste into any text app, or Share as Email and send the conversation to yourself.

Thanks RukBat - but there are 10,000's messages - too many to do that with. also copying/pasting doesn't seem to include the number and name etc. just the text by itself.

Does anyone know how i can find the LOCATION of the Textra data files? Is this available? If i could access it directly i could obtain it.

Textra reads directly from the stock message app storage. Just use TB and backup/restore "sms/mms messages", not the stock mess app it self. I've done it countless times did it works 100% always for me.
